Clive Kessell began his career with British Rail in 1961, specializing in railway telecommunications and signalling, and later led major projects like Cab Secure Radio and the National Radio Network before serving as BR Telecommunications' Director of Engineering. He transitioned to Racal during privatization in 1995 and later founded Centuria Comrail Ltd to provide industry consultancy. Clive is a past President of the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) and has contributed articles to *Rail Engineer* since 2007.
